Lego Legends: Big Build at Spacemakers – August 2023
In August 2023, Spacemakers hosted the Lego Legends Big Build, inviting children and families to take part in a creative, hands-on community build within the park.
The event encouraged imagination, collaboration, and play, using Lego as a way to bring people together in a shared public space. The Big Build was part of Spacemakers’ wider aim to make Wilmott Park a place where creativity and community activity can thrive.
August 15th 2023 – Our FIRST community event ran by Spacemakers @ Spacemakers – with Lego Legends!
Whilst there has been a growing community presence around Spacemakers in the last 12 months, with various organsiations including HWCP running events regularly at Spacemakers, we have been working towards this one since our Lord Mayors award in April 2023.
Having met Landon in April, with both Landon and Shane recieveing medals at the ceremony – it was clear that an event encorporating both Lego Legends and Spacemakers was a must.
With sizable donations from HL Training Services and RTITB – various local resisdents donating a vast amount of lego – and HWCP assisting by providing the gazebo and some snacks – we managed to put together an AMAZING event for the local community.
